How To Run a Service-Based Business is a live online workshop with Sarah Cordiner covering the complete system for quoting, pricing, proposals, service agreements, payment milestones, project delivery and AI-automated project management for service businesses and solopreneurs.

Sound familiar?

You are brilliant at the work. The business of the work is what is eating you.

A member asked me this exact question the other week. She said she keeps forgetting to write up the proposal... and she has no system for it at all. She is not disorganised. She just never built the machine.

  • You finish a great discovery call, promise a quote, and then it quietly disappears into your head. The follow-up never happens and neither does the money.
  • Every single project is custom, so every single quote starts from a blank page. Pricing takes hours and you still second-guess the number.
  • Projects drag on forever. The client keeps adding "one tiny extra thing" and you keep saying yes, because there is nothing in writing that says otherwise.
  • You chase payment after the work is done, instead of being paid along the way.
  • You cannot hand any of it to a team member, because the whole process lives in your head rather than in a documented system.
  • You have no idea where all your projects actually are at, so you spend your week doing status check-ins instead of billable work.

Here is the uncomfortable bit... a quote that never gets sent is money you have already done the hard work to earn. It is the most expensive admin task in your business.

This is not a discipline problem. It is a systems problem.

I learned this the hard way with my own course creation and curriculum design services. Every project was completely unique and could run in a completely different direction, which meant endless custom quoting, endless scope creep and projects that went on forever and ever and ever.

Then I watched people packaging up any kind of service into clear little fixed offers with explicit deliverables and hard boundaries. That was the moment it clicked. I packaged everything. The scope creep stopped. The pricing got simple. And suddenly I could hand the work to somebody else instead of being the technician and the fulfiller forever.

That is what this workshop gives you... the whole machine, start to finish, with the AI and the tech doing the parts you keep forgetting.

The workshop

How To Run a Service-Based Business

Ninety minutes, live with me, taking you from "someone just asked me for a price" all the way through to "project delivered, paid in full, and tracked without me chasing anyone". You get the packaging, the pricing, the quoting, the agreements, the payment milestones, the project pipeline and the AI prompts and skills that run it all. Replay is yours for life.

The Service Business Engine: five stages, fully automated

STAGE 01Package it
STAGE 02Capture it
STAGE 03Quote it
STAGE 04Sign it and get paid
STAGE 05Deliver and track it
Right now

Everything runs through you

  • Custom quote written from scratch, every time
  • Proposals remembered, or more often, forgotten
  • Nothing signed, so scope creeps for free
  • Payment chased at the end
  • You are the project manager, the technician and the chaser
After the workshop

The system runs the business

  • Fixed packages and a priced menu, ready to sell
  • Every quote request becomes a task automatically
  • Signed agreement before any work starts
  • Deposit up front and payment at every milestone
  • AI sends you and the team a daily project report

What we cover

Seven parts. Every one of them built to be used today.

No theory, no fluff. I build the actual thing on screen in front of you, and you keep the replay to work through at your own pace afterwards.

01

Package your services so they practically sell themselves

Why fixed packages beat open-ended custom projects every time: identical delivery, easy SOPs, explicit inclusions and exclusions, and a far simpler buying decision for the client. We build your three tiers (the baby package, the medium package and the big daddy package) and I show you real examples from the Tekmatix services page where genuinely complex tech setups have been packaged into clean, buyable offers.

Outcome Three packages drafted
02

The menu method for genuinely custom work

If your work really is different every time, you price a menu instead and let clients build their own buffet, exactly the way a restaurant does. Starters, mains, desserts, sides. We break down everything you do into a priced line item with clear boundaries: how long the session runs, which profiles are included, how far back the audit goes, what format the report arrives in, and what is explicitly not included.

Outcome Your service menu mapped
03

Price it properly: the sheet that ends the guesswork

How to build the one spreadsheet that prices anything in seconds. Hours per item, your cost rate (including staff wages, superannuation and taxes, not just an hourly rate), your profit margin, and GST or VAT if you are registered. You finish with cost price, sell price and profit on every micro-service... and a sheet your AI can quote from instantly.

Outcome Pricing sheet template
04

Never lose another quote: the AI capture system

This is the part that fixes the forgetting. Every consult gets recorded with an AI note taker. An AI skill reads those recordings twice a day, spots any mention of a quote or proposal, and creates a task in your task manager assigned to the right person. Then your daily priority report pushes quotes to the top of the list, because they are income-generating activities. I give you the skill and the prompts.

Outcome Capture skill installed
05

Five ways to build the quote, from manual to hands-off

Pick the level that suits where you are now: AI plus your price sheet, a tick-box quote request form, your own mini quoting app built in AI or Tekmatix AI Studio that emails the quote to you and the client, a proposal template with your terms pre-loaded, or a full AI-generated proposal. We build one live on screen.

Outcome A working quote flow
06

Service agreements, signatures and getting paid

No signature, no start. Ever. What has to be in your service agreement: deliverables, revision limits, approval windows, variation terms, payment milestones and cancellation terms. Why a signed, time and date stamped proposal is the thing that protects you when scope creep or a dispute shows up. Plus how to structure deposits and milestone payments so you are never funding a client's project out of your own pocket.

Outcome Agreement checklist
07

Project management that runs itself

The five-stage project pipeline every service business needs, and how to move clients through it. Then the good bit: your AI goes into your CRM, reads the pipeline and the task list, and sends you and your team a report every single day on where every project is at. The project check-ins happen without you. That is what makes a solo operator feel like an agency.

Outcome Daily AI project report

Learning outcomes

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to...

  • Design and price fixed service packages with explicit inclusions, exclusions, revision limits and add-on pricing.
  • Build a priced service menu for custom work, so clients self-select and you stop quoting from scratch.
  • Calculate a profitable sell price for every service, covering your time, your team's cost, your margin and your tax obligations.
  • Set up an AI capture system that turns every quote conversation into an assigned task automatically.
  • Produce a professional quote or proposal in minutes using AI, a form, a mini app or a proposal template.
  • Draft the terms your service agreement needs, and know which parts to get a lawyer to check.
  • Structure deposits and milestone payments so money arrives through the project, not after it.
  • Shut down scope creep with approval windows, variation terms and a signed, date-stamped agreement.
  • Run a project pipeline that shows exactly where every client job is at, at any moment.
  • Automate your project management with a daily AI report to you and your team, so check-ins stop eating your week.

AnyAI and any software you already use

Before you ask about tools

You can use whatever you already have.

The demonstrations use Tekmatix

Tekmatix is my all-in-one business platform, and it is what I build in on screen. But the processes and the systems in this workshop work in any CRM, proposal tool, task manager or project board you are already paying for. You are learning the system, not the software.

And any AI you like

Claude, ChatGPT, GrokBot or anything else. Every prompt and skill in this workshop is written to work in all of them, provided you are on a paid plan. You do not need to switch tools, and you do not need to buy anything new to use what I give you.

Is this for you?

Yes, if you...

  • Sell any kind of service: coaching, consulting, design, marketing, tech, VA work, training, done-for-you anything.
  • Are a solopreneur or a small team who wants to look and operate like a serious agency.
  • Have lost money to forgotten quotes, scope creep or projects that never ended.
  • Want AI and automation doing your admin, not just writing your captions.
  • Are ready to actually build the thing, not just collect another training you never watch.

Not right now, if you...

  • Do not sell services at all, and have no plans to.
  • Want a done-for-you build rather than learning to run the system yourself.
  • Are after a magic pill that needs no implementation. This one needs you to sit down and do it.
  • Are not willing to use any AI tool on a paid plan.

Your trainer

Hi, I am Sarah Cordiner

I have been running service-based businesses for over 20 years, and I have made every single one of these mistakes personally. Forgotten proposals. Projects with no end date. Clients adding "just one more little thing" because nothing was ever written down.

I am a business and AI educator, a postgraduate-qualified educator, the founder and CEO of Tekmatix, and I have taught over 280,000 students across 181 countries. These days I teach business owners how to make tech, AI and automation their unfair advantage... and this workshop is the system my own team runs on, exactly as we run it.

Same money. One workshop, or all of them.

Let me make the maths painfully obvious

Buying this workshop on its own is $149 once. Joining the Legends Lab is $149 a month, and this workshop is already sitting inside it... along with the Claude CoWork Masterclass, the GrokBot Masterclass, and over a hundred more trainings covering offers, pricing, systems, products, marketing, visibility, tech, automation and AI. Plus two live calls with me every month. For your first month you are paying exactly the same number either way. The only difference is how much you walk away with.

Questions people always ask

When is it and how long does it run?

Wednesday 14 October 2026, 10:00 to 11:30am AEST (Brisbane time), live online. Ninety minutes, start to finish.

What if I cannot make it live?

Book anyway. The replay lands in your portal afterwards and it is yours for life, so you can work through it whenever suits you.

Who is this workshop for?

Anyone who sells a service and wants the business side of it to run like a system instead of living in their head. Coaches, consultants, agencies, designers, marketers, VAs, trainers, tech providers and done-for-you service businesses of any size.

Do I have to use Tekmatix?

No. Tekmatix is what I demonstrate in, because it is my platform and it has proposals, contracts, pipelines, forms, tasks and AI all in one place. The processes themselves work in whatever CRM, proposal tool or project board you already use.

Which AI do I need?

Any of them. Claude, ChatGPT, GrokBot or another. Every prompt and skill I give you works across all of them, as long as you are on a paid plan of whichever one you choose.

I am a solopreneur. Is this overkill for me?

It is the opposite. The whole point is that the system does the work a project manager and an admin assistant would otherwise do, which is exactly what a solo operator does not have. This is how one person runs like an agency.

Ninety minutes for all seven parts? Really?

I move fast and I build live rather than talking theory. You will not finish every single piece inside the session, and you are not meant to. You leave with the full system mapped, the prompts and templates in hand, and the replay to build alongside at your own pace.

Is this legal advice on contracts?

No, and please do not treat it as such. I show you what to include in a service agreement and how to use AI to draft it, then I strongly recommend you have a lawyer check it once. After that, you have a template you can reuse forever. Cancellation and refund rules differ between countries, so your lawyer matters here.

What if I already have packages and a proposal process?

Then the capture, automation and project management parts are where your money is. That is where most established service businesses are leaking time, and it is the bit almost nobody has built.

Can I get a refund?

Because this is digital content with instant replay access, there are no refunds once it has been accessed. Please read what is included above and ask me anything before you book.

Wed 14 Oct • 10:00am AEST

Stop losing money to the quote you forgot to send.

Build the packages. Set up the capture. Get the agreement signed. Take the deposit. Let the AI run the project check-ins. That is the whole business, systemised, in ninety minutes.

PS. The membership is the same price as this one workshop, and it already includes this one workshop. If you only ever use the Lab for this, you have lost nothing.

PPS. You also get two live calls with me every month inside the Lab, so you can bring your actual packages and your actual pricing and have me pull them apart with you.

PPPS. Every week you leave this unbuilt is another quote that quietly disappears. Wednesday 14 October. Ninety minutes. Come and build it.
